Working people have long known that labor unions have their backs. Increasingly, the rest of America is catching on. A Gallup Poll released last week shows labor union approval is the highest it’s been in 17 years. More than eight in 10 Democrats and nearly half of the nation’s Republicans support unions. Labor unions’ push for expanded health care, retirement security, paid sick leave, worker safety, tax fairness and other worker-friendly issues are also resonating. Labor’s values are America’s values, and people are taking note.
